Land Rights of Foreigners to revert to the Timorese State

Timor aprova lei que tira terras a estrangeiros e empresas por LusaOntem

O Governo de Timor-Leste aprovou as propostas de Lei das Terras, reservando para os cidadãos nacionais a propriedade plena e excluindo os estrangeiros, anunciou hoje fonte do Conselho de Ministros.

O texto do Regime Especial para a Definição da Titularidade de Bens Imóveis (Lei das Terras) aprovado em Conselho de Ministros, a que a Lusa teve acesso, veda a propriedade plena a cidadãos estrangeiros, em conformidade com a Constituição, mas também a sociedades.

No que respeita aos estrangeiros a título individual, a proposta de Lei determina que os bens imóveis de estrangeiros titulares de direito anterior revertam para o Estado, salvaguardando que podem continuar a utilizá-los por meio de contrato de arrendamento com o Estado timorense.
