Diario Nacional, February 1, 2011 language source: Tetun - Justice Minister Lucia Lobato has confirmed that the Government will evict more than 50 families from their houses in Aitarak-Laran, Dili.
Minister Lobato said the Government will execute its plan to evict the people of Aitarak-Laran after President Jose Ramos Horta promulgates the law of the general state budget and the compensation law.
"The general state budget has just been approved and we are waiting for the President of the Republic to promulgate it. We are also waiting for the president to promulgate the compensation law produced by the Council of the Ministries and we need a law to regulate this," Minister Lobato said.
Minister Lobato added that the Council of the Ministries has produced certain criteria that would allow the Government to know whether or not to compensate the residents of Aitarak-Laran.
