People should not use sharp things to resolve problems

Diario Nacional, January 31, 2011 language source: Tetun - President Jose Ramos Horta has called on all the people of Timor-Leste not to use sharp things to resolve problems which take place in their neighborhood.

"People should not use sharp things to kill and threaten one another. They should not use those to resolve problems they are facing," President Horta said.

President Horta also called on the Timorese people not to commit sexual assaults and domestic violence against women and children, as the number of domestic violence incidents in the country remains high.
