KFP starts to investigate 40 public servants

Independente, May 2, 2012 language source: Tetun Public Service Commission (KFP) President Liborio Pereira said that, they had started to investigate 40 public civil servants who were believed to have involved in the political campaigns of the presidential candidates in for the first and second round of the presidential elections. He said that they confirmed the name of the officials, whose name was in the list, adding that they would never condemn people without evidences. “Soon or late when this process gets start, then it is important to make a positive conclusion and not to condemn people without evidences,” Pereira said. The Timorese Human Rights and Justice Ombudsmen (PDHJ) stated in their report that there were 6 public servants involved in the political campaigns of presidential candidate Jose Luis Guterres, and also more than 10 cars and motorbike of the Government were used during the campaigning of presidential candidates Fernando “Lasama” de Araujo, Francisco “Lu-Olo” Guterres and Taur Matan Ruak.
