Police destroy guns

Independente, June 5, 2012 language source: Tetun - The National Police (PNTL) have destroyed unused guns and some guns handed over by the communities to the police, police official says.

Some of the guns belong to the PNTL and some date from World War 2 and were found by the communities, he says.

"The general command has made a decision to destroy these guns as some the guns are still usable," the police official said.

The police called on the local residents to look for some of the guns which were still at large in the community.
