East Timor Legal News 04 Nov 2011 Source: Radio Timor-Leste 28 October2011 language source: Tetun - The Dili District Court has sentenced a former military police officer who murdered an old lady in Mascarinas to ten years in prison.
The former defence force officer was threatened with 12 years in prison, but he was then only sentenced to ten years prison based on the evidences and condition he is facing.
The defendant was legally indicted as he was believed and was proved to have committed murder on July 15, 2011.
The Penal judge said a serious maltreatment and torture was the cause of the death of the victim, Luciana Martins.
