Purchasing guns does not follow PNTL command’s proposal
Suara Timor Lorosae, April 18, 2012 language source: Tetun - The Government through the State Secretary for Security (SES) has already purchased guns for the Special Police Unit (UEP), but unfortunately they did not follow the proposal of PNTL command. “I have talked about this case for the last two years, the guns we are using do not work properly and are not suitable to be used in operations, therefore we sent a proposal to the Government, asking to purchase new guns,” Commissioner of Police Longuinhos Monteiro said. He added that they presented the proposal to the Government to purchase guns in order to to save state’s integrity.
