Saturday, August 1, 2009 6:53 PM The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Sat, 08/01/2009 8:29 AM | National - A 42-year-old Indonesian businessman, Hamid Malik, was reportedly murdered in Ermera District in Timor Leste on Thursday by a group of local people.
Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Sugen Kurniaji in Atambua, which borders Timor Leste, told kompas.com on Saturday that he had received information about the murder, but he has yet to receive details of the incident.
Head of Atambua Immigration Office, Silvester Sili Laba, said he had also received the same information.
"I got a report from Timor Leste immigration office, but I don't know when the body will be sent to the victim's home in Solor, East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara," he said.
The victim was a a seasonal trader in Timor Leste. He often went to several districts in Timor Leste, selling clothes and children toys. (dre)
