Gusmao exonerated by UN in 2006 Crisis

The only comments by the UN Commission of Inquiry on the role of then President Xanana Gusmao in the 2006 Crisis:

"The Commission is satisfied that this contact was no more than an attempt by the President to contain and control Major Reinado. There is no evidence that an armed group of men under the command of Major Reinado carried out criminal actions on the orders or with the authority of the President."
