PRESIDENT JOSE RAMOS - HORTA AUTHORIZING ADVISERS TO GIVE EVIDENCE
Following the crisis in April and May 2006, a process was initiated as recommended by the Independent International Commission of Inquiry / IIC - whose proceedings are from the Public Prosecution Service.
The Attorney General has requested authorisation for the questioning of two members of the Supreme Council for Defense and Security.
The President of the Republic heard the two directors, Mr Dr. Roque Rodrigues and Mr Brigadier General Taur Matan Ruak, and they are both in favor of the procedural hearing.
In a letter from the President of the Republic dated 10 October 2008 and addressed to Attorney General of the Republic, the two distinguished directors, Mr Dr. Roque Rodrigues and Mr Brigadier General Taur Matan Ruak, were allowed to testify in court proceedings. - END Media Officer: riko.joel @ gmail.com, Phone: +670 723 0160

PRESIDENTE JOSÉ RAMOS – HORTA AUTORIZA CONSELHEIROS A PRESTAR DECLARAÇÕES
Na sequência da crise ocorrida em Abril e Maio de 2006, foi instaurado um processo recomendado pela Comissão Independente Internacional de Inquérito / CII -, cujos trâmites processuais estão a correr no Ministério Público
O Senhor Procurador-Geral da República solicitou a autorização para a audição de dois membros do Conselho Superior de Defesa e Segurança.
O senhor Presidente da República auscultou os dois Conselheiros, Senhor Dr. Roque Rodrigues e Senhor Brigadeiro-General Taur Matan Ruak, tendo-se ambos pronunciado a favor da referida audição processual.
Por ofício do Senhor Presidente da República datado de 10 de Outubro de 2008 e dirigido ao Senhor Procurador-Geral de República, os dois ilustres Conselheiros, Senhor Dr. Roque Rodrigues e Senhor Brigadeiro-General Taur Matan Ruak, foram autorizados a prestar declarações no processo judicial referido. – FIM
