Legal Training Center launches third course for Magistrates and Public Defenders
On July 29 the Ministry of Justice, through the Legal Training Centre, had the opening ceremony of the third course for national Magistrates and Public Defenders with the presence of the Minister of Justice, Dr. Lucia Lobato, the President of the Court of Appeal, Dr. Cláudio Ximenes and the United Nations SRSG, Dr. Atul Khare.
Brazilian President visits Court of Appeal to discuss cooperation
The president of Brazil, Mr. Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, sought to increase the cooperation ties with Timor-Leste through his first visit to the country on 11 July.
Judiciary set to benefit from support of Portuguese Magistrates
A Protocol to support the Justice Sector between the Government of Timor-Leste, the Government of Portugal and UNDP was signed on 21 August. The Minister of Justice, Dra. Lúcia Lobato, the Minister of Justice of Portugal, Dr. Alberto Costa, and Mr. Finn Reske-Nielsen, UNDP Resident Representative, signed the Protocol at the Government Palace in Dili.
