Some police involved in illegal gambling Independente, June 29, 2012 language source: Tetun -  Deputy Timorese Police Commissioner of Police Afonso de Jesus has stated that there were some police believed to be involved in illegal gambling in the country.

He said that the law banned illegal gambling but unfortunately some police officers continue to play illegal gaming such as cock fighting and Bola Guling,” de Jesus said.

He also called on the people to report to the commander of PNTL if they found police officials involved in the illegal gaming.

PNTL start to investigate case of burning down CNRT’s district office Diario Nacional, June 29, 2012 language source: Tetun -  The Timorese Police Commander Commissioner Longuinhos Monteiro affirmed that the Viqueque District Police had started to investigate the case where the district office of the National Congress for Timorese Reconstruction (CNRT) was recently burned by unknown people in Osu Sub-District.

“The investigation is being conducted by the District Command and so I can not make a comment.”

“Viqueque District Police Command and all its members went to the scene and they are able to respond to this case based on the applicable legal procedures,” Monteiro said.

F-FDTL commander expresses condolence to Marques families Radio e Televizaun de Timor-Leste, June 29, 2012, Language Source: Tetun -  The Timorese Defence Force (F-FDTL) Commander Brigadier General Filomeno Paixao said F-FDTL Commands expressed condolences to the family of Sebastiao Marques who was killed in Maliana Sub-District.

“Yesterday handed the Sebastiao Marques homicide case to the police for investigation,” Paixao said.

He added also called on the resident o Maliana to be calm or not to be scared about the situation regarding the recent rumours.
