Radio Timor-Leste, April 16, 2010 language source: Tetun - The Timorese Prosecutor General, Ana Pesoa Pinto, has called on the public, particularly witnesses to bravely provide their testimonies to the lawyer in the trial process in order to process any case based on law and order.
“Witnesses should be fearlessly providing their testimonies to lawyers based on what they see or hear in the trial process,” Pesoa said.
Pesoa made the comment yesterday in the governance democratic forum held in the President Palace of Nicolau Lobato in Aitarak-Laran, Dili.
The title of the forum was “Together we grow democracy.”
Meanwhile, a presenter in the forum, Carmelita Moniz, has said that the Government’s institution has responsibility to socialize the existing law to the community, so that they can comprehend the law well.
“It is important to the Government to socialize the law been approved and is applying in the country, so that all people can understand well function of the law, moreover people can know the method used to try any case in the court,” Moniz said.
